There are many swimming pools in Moscow; most stadiums and sports facilities have them. You may visit almost any of them after receiving a doctor’s certificate of good health. The most popular are the pools at Chaika, Moscow, Luzhniki (swimming pool), Dvoretz Vodnogo Sporta Fili. TsSKA and Dynamo are used for professional swimmers.
The huge Moscow swimming pool once the site of Christ the Saviour Cathedral has been filled in and is now again the site of the immense gold domed Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.
Before going to a pool in Moscow, phone and ask when you can go and if medical documentation of good health is necessary.
When you go to a pool, be sure to bring soap and towel (razor for men), goggles, bathing cap for men and women, & plastic sandals in a plastic bag that can hang up. |
