Sports play an important part in the life of Russians and there are many sports facilities in Moscow, and more than one hundred DSO sports clubs (called "DSO" for Dobrovolnoe sportivnoe obshchestvo, meaning voluntary sports club). These organize teams and competitions and run facilities. Often by joining a DSO you can find fellow sports enthusiasts and use their sport facilities.
