Little neighborhood rinks dot the city and many skate on the numerous ponds. Skating and hockey are favorite pastimes in Moscow. In winter each stadium or sports complex and many Parks of Recreation and Culture have skating rinks (katki) for hockey, figure skating and general skating.
Many major all-year indoor rinks are used by the professional hockey teams, sports clubs, and sports schools, but are occasionally open to the public. The best professional hockey teams are Dinamo, Spartak, TsSKA, Krylya Sovetov; they play at Central Lenin Stadium at Luzhniki.
