The up-to-date electronic technologies used by the company allow transferring money to any distance within minutes. Each transfer is protected by a world-class reliable security system, ensuring your money is paid out only to the right person.
The international system of money transfer (Western Union System) set up by the company jointly with its numerous international partners covers almost 161 countries and consists of more than 48,000 service locations including more than 700 locations in CIS and the Baltic countries. Moscow alone has 90 locations.
Western Union System service is easy to use.

Fee for money transfer by Western Union is same for all banks and is paid by the person, who sends money. The fee falls from 9.6% for $500 to 6% for $1000 to 4.85 for $5,000 and above.

Western Union does not have a representative in Moscow, only "WU" branches (departments) in the following banks (banks with Western Union Services).

MoneyGram is the other easy way to transfer money abroad. This company entered the international market place in 1998 with the acquisition of MoneyGram Payment Services, a money transfer company established in 1988. The company's steady expansion has been built on a solid financial foundation.
MoneyGram operates in 140 countries. Its advantage is that the money transfer will take place within 10-15 minutes to any place in the world where there is a Money Gram service point. In Moscow the company started its business in April 1998. In comparison with Western Union, MoneyGram works not only with banks but with post offices as well. In the year of 2000 a money transfer could be received at post offices in Great Britain and Norway. Such kind of service is also planned for Russia.
In order to transfer your money you should find the nearest MoneyGram agent at one of the banks that are given in our list. Bring your passport and "deklaratsiya."(if you have filled one out at the customs when entering the country), the "spravka na vyvoz valyuty" is necessary for citizens of the Russian Federation. Such is the system when you need to make transfers under 2000 dollars abroad (the system does not operate on the territory of CIS). If you have a larger sum to transfer you can break it and transfer your money from several branches of the bank or from different banks.

How to transfer your money
The "money sender" should follow the following instructions:
- notify the "money receiver" of the coming transfer
- find the nearest MoneyGram agent
- fill in the form for a money transfer indicating the sum of the transfer, your last name,
- first name and the full name of the receiver
- submit the sum of the transfer in US dollars
- pay the fee of the service
The "money receiver" should :
- find the nearest MoneyGram agent (with his passport or ID card)
- fill in the form
- indicate the password if there is one
- receive the money
